Deeply dissected burgundy leaves mature to bronze-green in late summer. Small edible hazelnuts can develop if a suitable pollinator is nearby. Developed and introduced by Oregon State University, this unique, ornamental form of European Hazel is easily maintained as a small spreading shade tree.
