A sales transition opens the door to represent J. Frank Schmidt & Son Co throughout eastern Ohio, West Virginia, western and central Pennsylvania and western New York. We are seeking an experienced independent sales representative to proactively sell all lines of JFS nursery product, retain and grow our established accounts, develop new accounts, and maintain a high level of professionalism, positivity, and communication with customers and our office in Boring, Oregon.
Successful candidates will possess strengths of excellent listening, communication and self-motivation with a strong drive to succeed. Consistent market feedback and collaboration with Sales Manager to further develop and expand the territory while delivering prompt service and support to customers is expected. Requirements include familiarity with selling nursery stock (bare root, balled and burlapped and container grown) and experience with overnight travel to visit clients on a regular basis.

We are looking for a motivated welder/fabricator to help in construction and repair of new and used farm equipment as well as misc. other fabrication projects. Requires ability to positively assist other team members in new construction projects, be able to take direction well, help with problem solving, and handle construction of “one of a kind” projects. Must have valid and insurable driver’s license. Skills necessary include general metal work, ability to follow drawings and produce to exact dimensions, drilling and tapping, grinding, paint prep and painting. MIG welding, TIG welding experience as well as use of oxy/acetylene torch, plasma cutter, lathe, vertical mill, electrical systems, and hydraulics are a plus. We are seeking nursery workers for our Boring, Canby, and Milton Freewater, Oregon area farms. Job duties would include all aspects of growing and harvesting deciduous shade and flowering trees. This job requires the ability to stoop, bend, twist, and crouch for prolonged periods of time in fields; requires standing/walking for 8-10 hours; and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over uneven, muddy ground. We are seeking individuals to operate farm equipment at all of our locations. The primary equipment is a tractor and forklift, although other machinery will be used occasionally. Other farm work will be required when no equipment operation work is available. Candidates must be able to communicate in Spanish and have a valid driver’s license.
