Originating in a Polish botanical garden, this handsome hybrid of Tilia americana x T. tomentosa ‘Petiolaris’ has thrived in the Morton Arboretum since about 1940. Resistant to Japanese beetles, it is attractive to honeybees when it blooms in mid to late June and casts cool shade throughout the summer months.
