Japanese Umbrella Pine

Dark green glossy foliage, the tree becomes broader and more open with age. The tightly whorled needles resembling the spokes of an umbrella inspired the name for this unique conifer. Prefers acid soil but it is tolerant of clay soils, wet sites and road salt.
