Welcome to 2024! We’re ringing in the New Year with a warm welcome to the winter trade shows. ‘Tis the season to get off the farm or out of the office or design studio and discover what’s going on in the nursery world.
If you’re a green industry professional, we encourage you to join us at one or more of the 14 winter events on our schedule. From Maryland to California; North Dakota to Alabama, and in between, you’ll find us sharing the latest and greatest in trees. Oregon staff and/or our regional sales representatives will be on hand to discuss which trees are best suited for growing in each region.
There’s something for everyone at these winter events. We encourage landscape architects and designers, city foresters and other specifiers to attend in order to learn what’s available in their marketplace, and where to find the best sources of well-grown trees. Growers can gain tips on the best trees for their production processes and learn about promising new introductions that are sure to sell. Landscape contractors and garden center managers will discover new and unusual trees to offer to their customers.
Kicking off the season January 10-12 in Baltimore, Maryland is the Mid-Atlantic Nursery Trade Show (#MANTS2024). Billed as “The Masterpiece of Trade Shows™” and now in its 54th year, MANTS is the biggest event of the winter trade show circuit and attracts an average of around 10-11,000 attendees. It’s a great rendezvous of plantspeople from around the world and is definitely THE place to see and be seen, and buy and sell!
Inside the Baltimore Convention Center, you’ll find 915 exhibitors sharing plants, production supplies, machinery, innovations in automation, and all things garden center and nursery-related. For trees alone, a Keyword search for TREE identifies 285 exhibitors! Many are longtime JFS customers who buy our bare root and container liners and grow them on to perfection for sale in their region and beyond.
On the Interactive Floorplan, you’ll find us near the center of the hall in Booths 454-456. We invite you to stop by and pick up a 2024 wall calendar, a price guide and our newly published reference guide. We’ll also have plenty of updated poster sets and our ever-popular Trees Are the Answer bumper stickers.
Use our trade show schedule as a guide for planning your winter trade show visits. Try as we might, we can’t be everywhere all at once, so we encourage you to contact your state nursery/landscape association for trade and consumer gardening events happening near you. Upcoming events include some excellent regional educational conferences such as InvigorateU (Jan. 16-17, Bloomington, Ill.) and Think Trees New Mexico Feb. 8-9, Albuquerque, New Mexico).
Additionally, Ball Publishing maintains a handy years-long list of green industry and consumer events (in your back yard and around the world) at HORTCalendar.com
